When I walk into the drugstore, I always cross paths with the make up section. I wouldn't be myself if I didn't stop and swatch some of the things that caught my attention. One of the things that caught my attention this time was an eyeshadow from L'Oréal. Normally I don't check L'Oréal eyeshadows or whatsoever. But this time the big red sticker on the eyeshadows lured me into their lair. 50% off!

Kryolan Ultra Foundation Palette // Review

Everyone in the world is different. You divide yourself in a huge amout of things from your neighbour, your classmate, the politicians living in other countries and people in other continents. One of the things that divides (and sometimes unites) us, is your skincolour. There is a lot of variety in skintones and skincolours. Of course, when you're doing your make up, you need to match your foundation to your skincolour and skintone.

My beauty pet peeves

The grass is always greener // FOTD

Green. A colour I love. It's the colour of the grass, the colour of the leaves, the colour of nature. Unfortunately I am allergic to grass so sitting in the grass in summer with short pants and a tanktop is not something I get away with -at least, not without getting red and itchy skin. But green isn't only the colour of nature, today it is also the colour of my make up! Luckily I'm not allergic to this kind of green!

I'm a bit shocked about how we're already at the end of the 3rd month of the year 2015. It seems like yesterday that I went around to wish my family a happy new year. Spring beauty picks

It's official springtime and winter has gone. Daylight has a longer life and the weather starts to brighten. It's time to put the warm thick wintersweaters away and put on more lightweight jumpers instead. In my closet this yearly ritual hasn't occured yet, but I'm getting there! For my make up I do the same thing. I picked a couple products that are in my opinion, definitely spring-proof!

New name + Layout

Hi everyone! This is just a short update. As you might noticed I changed my name from Candles and Beauty to 'Made from Make up'. I like this name a lot more. Also I changed the layout to a more subtle background because I didn't like the dark. Unfortunately I am not able to turn my blogtitles black so they will stay purple until I found a solution for that.

MAC Lavender Jade // Review

One morning I woke up and checked my phone like I always do when I wake up. Only to find the make up whatsapp group I share with some girls in CHAOS. MAC released 3 limited editions at the same time; Cinderella, Toledo and Bao Bao Wan. In the battlefield of what everyone was going to order, I woke up a bit more and checked the MAC site. I was not allowed to buy anything since I gave myself a no-buy. Lavender Jade had my attention but was sold out pretty fast. What I felt the week after that was regret. Lots of regret.

But luckily this story has a happy ending, even if Lavender Jade wasn't from the Cinderella collection! MAC restocked last week and I grabbed my chance and ordered this lilac/lavender pearl!

Darth Maul // Movie Characters

A while ago I posted a status on my facebook to my friends and family announcing that I wanted to do a series of (fantasy) movie characters. I asked for requests and ideas and a lot of people reacted with very nice ideas! I wrote that I will do my best to copy the exact look from the character, but I can't promise everything because I don't have a whole storage with movie props. I will share some quick pictures of these characters also here on my blog!

FOTD - Sunset Sparkle

Winter is almost long forgotten, and spring has sprung. I am a real spring and summer lover, I simply can't stand the cold and depressing weather from winter (although snow can be pretty but just to watch!) With sunny weather I pull out sunny colours. One palette that has a lot of sunny colours is the Sunset palette from sleek. This was my first sleek palette and it is very well loved even though it is a very difficult palette to make looks with, because it has only one matte colour and that's a black.

My MAC stash!

MAC is a brand loved by many. Their lipsticks last a really long time, their eyeshadows have most of the time a really good colour payoff and they sell a wide range of foundations in different colours with a variable amount of coverage and not to forget, their limited editions make make up hearts beat faster. In the pro stores they sell a range of bright coloured products for extreme use like catwalks and make up art (or if you, like me, are eternally on the hunt for a green lipstick, satisfy your needs at a pro store)

I like to collect things from MAC. They have great quality and I feel like I can't go wrong with a few things from MAC in my kit. But not only I like MAC in my kit. There won't pass a day I am wearing make up without a product of MAC on my face.
